power door locks

When I try to lock the doors with the drivers side switch nothing happens. They will only lock with the key fob. Any thoughts on this?

This happened to me at about 40k miles. At the time he switch was too expensive to replace.
FIX: Remove the switch, clean the switch contacts and wire connections. It shouldn’t take longer than an hour, and I know It seems tedious but it was worth it; the switch panel is going strong (I’m @ 185k now).
ISSUE: Water gets into the switch, since the switch panel is on the door. If you leave the window down in the rain moisture creeps in and carbon build up on the contacts occur.
