'02 Grand Prix Head Gasket Replacement L67

'02 Grand Prix GTP with L67/Supercharged Head Gasket Replacement

I ordered a head gasket kit and found that the kit came with what appears to be 2 head gaskets for the same bank. In my picture, you can clearly see the different surfaces (the wider one with the extension at the end is the one that was facing my block for the OE gaskets). Of course, I have to align the arrows in each gasket towards the front of the motor, but if I do so, then the wrong face (I think) is facing the block.

My questions is this: does it matter which side of the head gasket faces the block vs the head? Anyone else get a kit that contained both for the same side?
