what is the voltage output of the alternator?
what is the voltage at the battery with the engine running?

If they are "12 something" the alternator is not charging the battery. An alternator is supposed to put out 13.5 to 14.5 volts.

Could it be the ignition control module

that ICM does not deplete the battery and I told you 12 something is too low a voltage for a running engine. You have something wrong with the charging system.

Sorry. Could it be the main ground from the battery to the engine. The wire has like a half inch of exposed wire where it connected to the block.

as long as the connection to the block is clean, having an exposed ground wire will not cause your problem.
have you retested the voltage output of the alternator?
