2001 grand am

i have a 01 grand am and after the car warms up driving say about 30 miles or so it starts to surge and wants to stall. but the weird thing is if i hammer on the brakes it takes
off again for a little bit then it acts up again . would it have anything to do with the ignition

do you have a check engine light on?
how many miles since you changed the fuel filter?
how many miles since you checked the air filter?

Air filter is good good fuel pressure.Changed plugs wires etc. My remote car entry module under the glove box has had water in it and shorted out some resisters would that have anything to do with it.

do you have a check engine light on?
have you checked for cracked or broken vacuum hoses?
did you use a fuel pressure gauge to check the pressure?
does the amount of gasoline in the tank effect the problem?

yes i used a fuel pressure guage. this problem started about December when the surging or intermediant misfire was happening. slowly i was loosing power and barely could get 20 mph out of it. so i decided that my cat converter was plugged and cut it off and put a piece of pipe in. doing that i got my power back but still has the misfire. i live 5 kms from work and by the time i get a mile from home it starts acting up. i had it in the shop and they said was try changing my plugs and wires. what would cause my cat conv to plug that much maybe i should be looking at that

Again, do you have a check engine light on?
How many miles on the engine?
Have you done a compression test?
what is the fuel pressure reading?
have you tested the coils?
