Trunk Light

Crazy deal. Got a customer who brought in his 1995 Pontiac Grand Am complaining of no trunk light. Checked the socket and bulb was gone-replaced bulb-still no light. I cannot find a switch that actuates the trunk light anywhere. There are two wires coming from the socket and one has power so the bulb must be ground side switched. No sign of a switch anywhere? Customer swears up and down it did work previously and that no one has removed anything or tampered with it. Indentifix shows a switch in their wiring diagram but they were no help locating where it is or where it should be. GM dealer wasn't any help either. Does someone have a 95 Grand Am that you could check and see before we lose our marbles here? Thanks.

you are sure the sensor to complete the circuit isnt part of the lamp? Test the two wires going into the lamp with an ohm meter. If you get zero ohms there must be a switch external to the lamp, if you get infinite ohms the lamp is defective. part number is 22638345
I know the video below is for a Saturn but any chance the ground is part of the trunk latch?
