Pontiac grand am

Not really any issues but I just bought a 1999 grand am with 223,000 miles on it.
Motor sounds great doesn’t smoke my question is has any one owned one with that many miles and does those cars last a while if regular maintenance is done?
Also I only paid $500 for the car and it fired right up

since you dont know the history of the car you cannt be sure it is the original engine unless you checked the vin stamping. Cars can last a long time but as things wear the owner has to decide whether it is still worth investing more money into that car.
