2001 Grand Am SE Trunk Carpet

A few months ago I placed a 5 gallon jug of kerosene in the trunk and some of it spilled when it fell over while I was driving. I honestly didn't think it would fall over. Now I have white spots on the carpet. I tried cleaning it with whatever I had on hand (Dawn, Windex) but the white spots always come back. What should I use to clean the carpet? Or should I consider tossing this one and getting another?

it sounds like you bleached the color out of the carpet with the kerosene. You need either carpet dye or another carpet.
