Having trouble finding the right air filter for a 1972 catalina 400. The demensions are 13 and 3/4 inch diameter by 2 inch high. Cant figure out what engine it is.

do you have the stock air cleaner housing on the car?
the stock filter is a A212CW which is about 14" in diameter and 3" tall.
did you look for the engine code based on the reply you received in yesterdays email?

It almost sounds like an aftermarket Mr. Gasket 1480 Lo flow air cleaner.

If you have the under hood clearance you can still replace the 2 inch high element it with the 3 inch high A212CW filter element.
