Transmission Fluid & Filter Change Question

Recently bought a great car with 107K miles. It's in great shape, many highway miles. PO never serviced the transmission. So I was thinking of changing the fluid and filter. My local Firestone center said they would not change it if it had over 100K.

Now I remember this myth from back in the 1970's era tranny's but is this still something to worry about in this day and age?

I would not Flush the transmission but a fluid and filter change should not be an issue.
