My 14 year old daughter saved up and bought herself a 1973 LeMans to restore this summer. She has a GREAT car to start with but being her first project, I’m helping her find as much info as she can. She has the original owners manual and repair manual but I am looking for recommendation on books, websites etc. that I can get her to help her learn and use as reference. Anything specific to a 1973 LeMans Sport Coupe or restoring classic cars in general would be GREATLY appreciated !

Not going to lie, I couldn’t be more proud of this girl. She squirrelled everything dime away, searched for months and months (she knew EXACTLY what she wanted) to find it and paid for the entire thing by herself. Not bad for only being 14!

Congratulations, looks like a nice clean car!

Have her sign up on Facebook to the "73 -77 GM A Body Colonnade Cars " car group, plenty of help there.( I'm a member)

Most parts are junkyard only, www.car-part.com ( used part database) or www.row52.com ( u pull it yard availabilities) you can sign up for alerts on the later when one shows up in a yard.

Any 73 -77 GM ABody car uses the same parts except for body panels. Pontiac and Buick were low production compared to Chevrolet and Oldsmobile .

Hopefully, member "CammerJeff" will chime in on here with more info since he has owned alot of them.

Concerning the repair manual, is it the factory manual? It gives detailed explanations of all components. There also is an assembly manual. Amesperf.com is another source for some parts. The local library may have books of value also.

Congrat's !!!! I would be proud also! Yes the best manuals are the factory service manuals. Most of the mechanical parts are easy to source unless she has one of the rare manual transmission models, then some parts are tough to find. And yes most interior and body parts are used only for these models.

More pictures when she gets a chance. Always nice to see pictures of a nice Colonnade. I still have a 73 wagon and a few extra parts laying around so if you need anything specific ask, I may have it.
