How about some details on how you removed it?
The factory method includes drilling a hole in the inner fender.

I had pulled the engine out of the car to rebuild it. Then decided before I put the engine back in that the engine compartment really needed attention. Next thing I knew I had taken the entire front end of the car apart to sand and paint each piece. Now that I am finally putting the car back together I thought a smart person would replace the 24 year old heater core while still easily accessible
Today’s challenge is yes that it dose show signs of leaking, so do I rebuild my copper one ( very expensive) or buy a new aluminum one ?

I would think replacement would be the way to go but why aluminum?
Ames Performance has the core doesn't say anything about aluminum.
