1999 grand am se 2.4 Headliner Repair

I am thinking of redoing my grand am headliner and I've been watching a lot of vids about doing it yourself. I noticed on my car, the headliner doesn't seem to be attached to a board that you remove from the car like in this video for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vd1BCFRJUHI In my car the headliner seems to just be tucked under the tripping, if you tear a hole in the headliner there isn't anything behind it.

Does anyone have experience replacing the headliner in their grand am s.e.?

I read your post, I also own a '99 and I am having similar problems with my headliner. In the back of the car, near the rear window, my headliner is apparently coming unglued from the form backing. Is this the issue you are having as well?
