I bought the car from a old granny. She never used the parking brake, so it was loose. I would drive at 5mph, yank the brake to the top and the car never slowed down, brake pads weren't worn out. Went to a parts shop, guy told me the "springs" on the calipers were definetly jammed since the old granny probably never used em, so I need to change calipers. Bought 2 refurbished calips. Now that the old ones are removed, the brake cables that I removed from the old calipers are just too tight on the "plastic braket". On both sides, I can't pull them enough to install them inside the new calipers, I would need at least 2 inches ( I can pull them out only about a inch from the "bracket", see attached file ) . I tried looking inside the brake lever console to find a dented wheel adjustment, a bolt or whatever the thing is supposed be on the G6 to loosen up the brake line, and there is a big dented wheel ( see attached file ), but i can't push down on it with a screwdriver, it won't budge. And if I push upwards, it moves about an inch, same inch at the end of the brake lines. I am out of ideas, and taking it to the dealership is a no-no, since, huh, well... I can't put the rear calipers on. My last idea would be to tear appart the shifting console to completely expose the brake line from the lever to about the mid-brake line... but surely I am missing something ? Could it be that the wire is tangled up where the 2 cables meet, under the car, pretty much INSIDE the car floor where it's unreachable ( to me ) ?
