Not knowing why you cut wires as opposed to using a wire harness adapter and not knowing what instructions or wiring diagram you used I can only guess something that you tapped into was incorrect and now some other wire broke or shorted.
Using a wiring diagram and a multimeter you have to check if the correct wires are supplying power both with ignition on and ignition off.
