Seeking some help concerning a P2229 code for my 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP 3.8L V6 Supercharged. I have replaced the MAP sensors(there are 2) after rebuilding the supercharger, reworked my vacuum lines, replaced the boost bypass solenoid. Haven't been able to get rid of this code and it keeps coming back causing the vehicle to go into what I believe is "Limp Mode" when a message pops up saying "Reduced Engine Power." Additional the message display always say "Service Stability Control/ Service Traction Control." If I don't have to replace the Catalytic Converter then I'm not trying to...yet. Please advise...it's starting to work my nerves.

I replaced the originals with two direct aftermarket matches based on the Model #s. They are identical MAP sensors. I replaced the old ones with these ones since they were a direct match.

Did you read the list of causes beyond replacing the BAP sensor.

I did.. Started to go through checking them off one by one. I just got looking over the connections and wiring the the MAP sensors and everywhere else and taping them up. Haven't done any meter readings yet. I suspected that one place on my supercharger that was capped off needed to run into the other map sensor. That may be the one that reads Barometric Pressure so I connected a vacuum line into it. P2229 hasn't popped back up yet.. Although it did read a brief misfire but I cleared it during my drive. If that returns during travel I'll let you know ..

It's running abit better now. The boost and acceleration are more responsive now but the code does in fact persist. Need to continue to go down that list from the link you sent...

So...I got a recall notice from the dealership about the ignition and took it in. This is what they came up with on my vehicle after all of that..

Mine was doing the same thing and I found the map sensor on mine was where the barometric pressure sensor was, and vice-versa so the vac line was on the barometric pressure sensor. Some say they are the same but they're not. They are different part numbers and prices. Try switching them? Maybe itll work for you.

I've replaced these parts. Not sure if the sensors need to be switched on the lines like was mentioned by jkrueger
