• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "1995 Trans Am" isn't going to indicate to anybody that you need help. However, "Need help with my 1995 Trans Am" will. Be as descriptive as you can. Please use common sense... I have a Pontiac Gran am and this is the first winter driving it since i've got the car. When it's really cold outside the car will start up but the heat, the radio and the windshield wipers do not work. Also the abs light turns on, sometimes I can turn the car off after letting it run for while and one thing or if i'm lucky everything starts to work again. Most of the time it has to be warm though for everything to work. All of my close friends and family have been telling me different things so im not sure why it does that. If anyone could help me out, I would be so greatful.

The ABS light shouldn't be worried about until it comes on and stays on, could be ice building up on the sensor near the wheel hub, sometimes they just short out when cold or wet like driving through a few inches of water. Your heat may be a bad thermostat but the air won't be warm until the car is a little over 100 degress anyways. The radio and windshield wipers could also be a short in the wiring somewhere. As long as your ABS is working still ( if its snowy and you press firm on the brakes and the tires lock up without making a clicky noise its pry not working) then you should be ok with that. It's really hard to tell about the rest.

Oh and about your radio, that could possibly be the OEM amplifier if the radio turns on but no sounds come out until its warmed up. that happens in alot of vehicles and alot of grand am cars have an amplifier in the trunk on either the right or left side behind the carpet material.

myhooptydoo,
I would like to apologize for the issues that you are currently experiencing with your vehicle. I would suggest that you contact your local dealership and have them look into this for you. They are in the best position to diagnose your vehicle for you. If you would like I can locate you a service center. If you would like me to do so please send me a PM with your personal information (full name, phone number, address including zip code), VIN number and current mileage and I can make an appointment with your local service center for you. I look forward to hearing back from you.
Thank you,
Stacy Pontiac Customer Service
