If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "1995 Trans Am" isn't going to indicate to anybody that you need help. However, "Need help with my 1995 Trans Am" will. Be as descriptive as you can. Please use common sense... Just picked up a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix. The coolant is green and I noticed it is supposed to be dexcool. Is this a major problem

It is low now should I just fill it with one of those brands or flush it first

Check the radiator for buildup on the inner core, if there is ,then flush it.

If heavy buildup or rust, you can use vinegar then clean water.

You can get a coolant tester to check the old coolant, if the coolant overflow is low and it checks out ok, then just refill with new.

there are green coolants that are compatible with dexcool since you dont know what you have I would flush and refill.
