Do cruise controls get "sticky"? My '83 Trans Am has a digital speedo added that fluctuates at low speed, above 30 mph it's OK. (The original speedo is OK at all speeds, so I have been bending the ear of the digital speedo guy, but he says CC.
) The tranny-to-CC cable has been lubed. When I disconnect the CC-to-orig. speedo cable the fluctuation is still there in the digital. The digital is mounted between the CC & orig. speedo. I'm wondering if the cruise control needs rebuilt/cleaned.
Does anyone know of a shop that works on cruise controls? I haven't found anything in Hemmings or on the net. Or, does anyone have rebuild instructions? I have no idea how many springs, ball bearings, etc. are in there and what may fly out if I take it apart.
Thanks
