Hello,

I just got a 72 Lemans and figured I would register for this forum and maybe someone could help me out. The Lemans has a 400 with a 3 speed automatic transmission. (not sure which trans yet) The 400 is knocking and I am looking at replacing the engine, so I was wondering if a 455 will bolt up to the 3 speed trans and if it will, will the trans hold up?

Any help would be greatly appreciated? Thanks.
 
The 455 will bolt up and if you have a Turbo 400 you will be fine. If a Turbo 350 as long as you dont push for really high HP you should have no issues.
