• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "1995 Trans Am" isn't going to indicate to anybody that you need help. However, "Need help with my 1995 Trans Am" will. Be as descriptive as you can. Please use common sense... So i need some help. I have been building my buddies 99 Grand Am 3400 since about 2002. Making it faster stronger and better than ever. Just 2 month his wife needed the car for a while and ended up blowing the head gasket.

I believe in uprading NOT replacing. I have been looking into this 3800 supercharged V6 engine that came in the Grand Prix GTP. Is it possible to swap the enigine? Where do I find one?

If so how difficult? is there anything I need to know? Computers, trans , heavier suspension due to weight etc. Is it worth it for the power?

Help me out. OR if this is not an option what do you think I should do with it? (scrapping or giving it away is not an answer.

Really appriciaite any help of advice.

the 3400 is a 60 degree V6 the 3800 is a 90 degree v6 you better take some measurements good chance it wont fit. If it physically fits you will need all the electrical/electronics to go with it. To find one, a junk yard. Just replace the head gasket is the cheapest way.

I agreed replacing the head gaskets would be cheaper but I want more power!
Money as of now is not an issue. Im willing to drop 5K-10K into it.

What would you suggest if its not the 3800?

For that money find a turbocharger kit

doubtful, the 3400 engine is not one people generally try to push horsepower wise beyond basic external changes, CAI, etc. The 60 degree vs. the 90 degree is the spread of the V with respect to the cylinders, 90 degree will be wider than 60 degree.
