Hey guys, new to the pontiac world..need some help!

So my Dad and I bought a 2000 LT1 Firebird Trans-Am from his friend last week, only thing wrong with it was the headlight motor on the passenger side was out....other than that it looks BRAND new. With the motor being out we ordered a new refurbished motor to replace the old. We installed the new motor and hooked everything up just how the old one was from the factory and then tried the lights....

The side that was NOT broken rose up correctly with the light on while the other side that we just fixed only turned on and did NOT flip up.......we then turned the lights OFF and the side that turned on correctly shut off correctly while the side that we fixed then flipped up but with NO light on.....we seemed to have tried everything to try and figure out why the lights were opposite and why....PLEASE HELP!

have you tried unplugging the new motor, turning the lights on so the other side rises, and then just plugging the new motor back in?
