I have '88 firebird. Came stock with 305 and 5-speed transmission. I came across an early 80s 350. I know very little of transmissions and bolt up patterns. I built the 350 up and now would like to know where to go. I searched advance auto's parts list and its showing flywheels for 88s and 79s. nothing in between for the 350. Everything from 80-87 were flexplates. Stock flywheel will not bolt up to the early 80s 350. Long story short, will a '79 350 flywheel bolt up to stock 5 speed? thanks to anyone that can help me.

yes the guy putting my motor in said the flywheel for the early 80s bolt pattern is different from the bolt pattern on the '88. i looked through advance and next flywheel was for a '79 firebird. '80-'87 showed flex plates and no flywheels. will the 79 firebird bolt up to early 80s 350 and also function with my 5-speed. sorry for being confusing. thanks for advice

you had a chevy 5.0 or a pontiac 5.0??? buy the fly wheel four the engine and match it up to what you have...your starter may also be an issue you are going to run into as well... you can also look up conversion kits on line... if you have a chevy engine look at parts for a camaro not the t/a there are slight differences but i am not smart enough to know what extactly they are...

had a pontiac 5.0. i know i will need a 350 starter. guess my question is will an '88 5 speed bolt to early 80s 350. if i need adapter or whatever can you link it please. thank you all for your help
