Hello all,

I have a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am Se with the 3.4 engine. Currently, when I crank it up and put it in drive or reverse, the engine idles rough and surges. I've recently replaced the spark plugs, spark plug wires, and the coil packs trying to solve this issue with no luck. We've also checker the fuel pressure and that seems to be fine. Its also NOT throwing any codes. Its been suggested that this might be a wiring issue, but we aren't sure. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what the issue might be?

Thank you

Water in the fuel? Or vacumn leaks.

Check for coolant in the oil, or vice versa, these engines are famous for intake manifold leaking.

No GM recall, just bulletins.( New gaskets and intake manifold bolts)

Not sure about the vacuum leaks or water in the fuel, but we did check the oil for coolant and didn't find anything. I'll see if I can check the fuel for water and look into the vacuum leaks, thanks!
