Remote start

The remote start on my two key fob works once in awhile. I hit the start button, and the car starts within seconds. The next dozen times- nothing. Everything else on the key fob works fine: lock, unlock, trunk, horn. I am wondering if the receiver has started to go bad and only works intermittently. Any ideas out there? Thanks.

Have you tried replacing the FOB battery?

The batteries in the FOB are brand new. I checked voltage before I replaced them.

If the other functions work it could be the board in the key FOBs for the remote function. Have both FOBs been used equally over the years?

I would assume so. By process of elimination, both FOBs start the car. A few days later, neither FOB starts the car. And it hasn't worked since then. I suspect that the electronic module that receivies the signal is starting to go bad. The previous owner has stated that she has not had a problem with remote starting. I suspect it is the module. Now the trick is to find out which module is the bad one and how to get a replacement.
