Alright, I have a mystery that I need help with. Driving my 1994 Bonneville today I noticed that my turn signal was not working. I move the turn signal stalk down (turn left)--nothing. Same thing when I move it up (turn right). No turn signal sound, no green arrows. Consulted my owner's manual and confirmed that the turn signal fuse (1B) is good. Wipers, which are controlled from the same stalk, are responsive. And the kicker is that when I turn the hazards on, my green arrows flash and my lights light up. What might the problem be, and how can I diagnose it?

it should be mounted on or very near the steering column; you will have to remove the black splash shield above the floor. Look up with a flashlight and you should see it. It will be a small, round silver piece with two prongs on it. There are TWO units (one hazard AND one turn signal flasher), so turn on whichever still works and feel each for the clicking. Whichever one is not, that's your bad one. :) 2010-12-23_123849_96bonn021c.png

Thanks, Doug! Looks (sounds) like that's the issue. I'll give an update after swinging by Advance this afternoon.

Well, I've got the turn signals working again--thanks, Doug! Here's the offending flasher. Like a rotten tooth: a small thing causing big problems. Wonder if it's an original part. The relay for the hazards looked similar, and I'm wondering if I shouldn't have replaced it, too, while I was at it.

Your welcome, usually they don't go bad as I have 2 two 30 years old vehicles and haven't had to replace any of mine yet. I sure the hazard one of yours will last alot longer........🤞

Yes it looks original, factory always used metal ones, aftermarket is usually plastic....
