This was supposed to be my first brand new car back in the 90s. However, I chickened out. I was supposed to trade-in a Camaro.. The last generation of these cars was very nice, in my opinion. I wish I did buy the Sunbird.. Have you ever owned one? Let's hear about your experiences.. Have any pictures? Please post 'em up...
 
Okay. You Pontiac Pros know too much.. Which years are the H-Body?
 
The Old Vega/Monza body.

Pontiac called it the Astre when it was 74 and older, and Sunfire 75-81.

Olds called it the Starfire (that was a JOKE name!! Starfires were the Luxury option on the 98's!!)

Buick called it the Skyhawk

Chevy called it the Monza (tell me, what do you have when you have 2 or more? Monzai?)

The cool thing was you got anywhere from a wimpy 4 cyl to a Cosworth DOHC 4 cyl to a 3.2L V6, 3.8L V6, 4.3L V8 or a 5.0L V8. And rare, is a 5.7L V8 for California only!! Get that and a 4 speed and fly!

Alright Im stumped please help...I have a 1990 Sunbird 2.0 no turbo, I replaced the injecter and presto my car turns over but dont start. I've replaced everything imaginable since then...O2 senser, map senser, fuel pump relay, even the ecm. the fuel pump works fine ,whirrs just like it should. i really need this car but short of spending 100's of dollars at a garage i dont know what to do. any one have any suggestions? and yes i checked all the fuses.
 
Need a little help

I'm replacing the head gasket on my 94 pontiac sunbird 2.0 ohc. Everything went well till I aligned the timing marks and started the engine. It started but ran rough. My question is where do you set the crankshaft timing mark? The cam is clearly marked by timing belt cover and notch in cam sproket. The crank has a mark on it also, but do all 3 marks ( cover, cam, and crank) align in a straight line or does the crank have its own mark? I've got a chiltons but its not very clear on the crank.

I may have a timing belt book on the tool truck. I'm not sure. I can check on tuesday and let you know. Maybe someone else here has the info?

90 sunbird no start

sounds as though you think it is a fuel problem, is it?
 
I have a 1994 Sunbird LE. I am trying to find the window lift motor for the passenger window. The driver's side works fine. The switch for this window system is in the middle console between the seats facing the gear shift. Is there anyone out there that can help me find the lift motor. We took the passenger door apart but couldn't find the motor. This is the LE Sunbird, 4 cyl, 2 l. It has a sport spoiler on the rear. Anyone know where the motor is? Thanks. Yes, I am still reasurching, short of calling Pontiac to find it.
 
Hi, I have an 87 Sunbird. Runs great but the power top has quit. I can still hear the motor run when the button is pushed, but no lift. Any help would be great. Thanks Bill87
 
Top Not Working

You Problably Have A Problem With The Linkage Or Perhaps The Hydraulic Cylinder That Moves The Top. Will Require A Closer Inspection

1994 Window Motor

The Motor Is Inside The Door, It Is Attatched To The Regulator, And It May Be Tricky To Get Out.it Is Also Riveted To The Regulator
 
Pontiac Sunbird my favorite car pretty much i bought mine as my first car and she could take one hell of a beating i'll tel you that. i got a sunfire now but i would sell it and trade for a sunbird no problem.

my sunbrid GTZ

i have a 91 sunbrid GT with the 3.1 mpfi 5 speed but i put a 94 z24 hood spoolier groundeffects on it the car looks mean as hell from the front cause it got the flip up headlites
 
91 sunbird 2.0 ohc

Just put a new tachometer in my sons 91 sunbird. 2.0 ohc auto trans. Trying to set the maximum tach on the tachometer. Anyone have any idea what that would be???
 
door switch

Hey, I own a 2000 Sunfire, and I can't get my radio and overhead lamp to shut off, even after I open the door. I usually have to jiggle to door switch several times for it to go off, and other times it just never goes off at all. Is there a possible cheap way to fix this problem??
 
just wondering

i have a 1991 Pontiac Sunbird LE with the 3.1 mfi, i was wondering if i am able to buy and install either a turbo or a supercharger for it, and the body, what year z24 ground effects would fit mine, from what to what
