bought a 70 with the 350 it has a Edelbrock intake and 600 cfm carb, whoever he had work on it didn't have vacuuma advance hooked up , timed it and connected that and checking the carb he had 1 idle screw out 2 turns the other less than 1 , what is the starting point for them? I turned them out 1 each seemed good went Both another half turn didn't like that just seems like it be to lean out only 1 turn, don't know this carb.

Edelbrock has the instructions, download them.

whoever he had for a mech put in a electronic ign. a intake and carb, didn't have vacuum advance hooked up and had 1 idle screw out 2 turns and the other less than one , seems better now that I checked, still looking at what else needs attention

Sounds like you are making progress

I always start with two full turns out , then use a vacuum gauge and adjust to the highest vacuum at recommend idle or sometimes I put a glass of water on the engine and adjust for smoothness, old school tech here .
