Resurrecting A/C System

I'm currently working on a 1975 Lemans for the wife. A/c is important to her. I evacuated the system and it held vacuum (amazing!) Looking for suggestions and peoples experience to get an old R12 system to blow cold. My research has been all over the map. From buying almost every component to convert to R1234a to simply replacing some O rings and charge port fittings. Specifically what refrigerant to use, replace the accumulator, receiver dryer, O rings etc? Where to get components as needed? What did you guys do? Thanks!
 
Have you looked into purchasing R12a by Artic Air?

I have not used it but seems a lot less expensive than anything else.
