i recently bought a 2000 pontiac grand am Se .. it has the 2.4l 4 cylinder 4 door automatic with 142,000 on the odometer.. the day i picked it up the ac was working but not as cold as a pontiac should be.. so i had the dealer tak a look at it they put some freon in it and it worked okay but not at its best..so i took it back the next day and they put a new orifice tube in it,which the old one was very clogged with junk..recharged it with freon and it work good for a day and now its not working at all...but the pressure on the low side is at the top of the freon gauge but i know they didnt overcharge the system ...the mechanic was talking about putting a new compressor in it but im not sure if that would be the problem if the pressure keeps jumping up so high! i was wondering if you guys might have any other suggestions that are a little cheaper than a $200 a/c compressor
