Just starting have problems with my 2001 Firebird V6. First one of the daytime running lights burned out and when it was replace could tell the light had gotten very hot but when replaced with a new bulb it worked fine. It started with the radio NOT going off when the key is turned off and out of the ignition but it turns off when the door is opened. Then when I tried using the remote to unlock my car door it wouldn't work but the remote light comes on so I know its not the battery on the remote. When the doors are shut and the car started the doors will not automatically lock and this morning when the brake pedal was pushed the radio and lighted odometer would click off and right back on. Going to auto zone today to check for any error codes but wanted to see if anyone else has had any problems. Yesterday when the brakes were pushed to turn off the cruise control all the intrument panel lights came on and stayed on until the brakes were pushed again, then they went off. Also, when the car was turned off yesterday and the doors opened all the guages on the instrument panel went all the way as high as they could then back down.

OK, any suggestions will be extemely helpful!!!

Thanks,
Lisa

Went to Auto Zone at lunch and they said there was no need to check for error codes if the check engine light wasn't on so going to check the alternator and battery. Has anyone else had the alternator go out and if so, did it make the care do weird things? Car was hard to start at lunch and one time I started it the doors locked automatically and the next time they didn't. I had read if the battery wasn't getting charged it would cause the computer not function correctly, is this true???

Thanks,
Lisa
