2001 firebird 3.8 auto 100,000 miles. Car was dyeing while driving had crank positioning sensor replaced now new problem. Security light in instruments is always on. It will crank but not start most of the time. Some times works usually hot out. Friend found it will start if turn key to on pull the engine control fuse then put back and fires right up and drives. Gas gauge is either on empty or full. Door locks inside car won't unlock

if the security light is on that means it doesnt recognize the key and will not start. Have you tried a different key? If the second key doesnt work you may have a bad sensor on the ignition cylinder.
You may have a bad sender in the gas tank.
Either broken wire or bad switch or bad lock solenoid

It does it to both sets of keys. It starts up every time if I pull the engine control fuse while turned to on position. I bought and installed the newrockies vats bypass according to their instruction

But security light is still on. Newrockies said it sounds like the computer

Not familier with their product but even if it is the ECM shouldnt the security light go out with their system? You went back over all the connections you had to do to install their system? The check engine light is off?

I am still getting a hold of the bypass company because I thought the security light would go out. If anyone knows how to bypass how many wires is it. There are 4 according to their bypass. I believe 2 are power for their bypass. I think it was a pink, yellow black, blue and a black wire off the blue harness from bcm
And yes security light is still on.

Just took to dealer got ignition lock cylinder replaced security light off. Still won't start

The starting problem happened after getting it back from mechanic who replaced crank positioning sensor. Could he of done something?

The new sensor could have failed or a wire harness issue going to the sensor.

It runs like a new car just doesn't want to start. To get it started I turn key to on pull the ignition control fuse have to wait until I hear a click from engine then put fuse back go in car hold lock and un lock on key fob for 10 seconds doors will lock it will be reset and fire right up. What does the engine control fuse go to is it the computer? Does it have a sensor or relay to replace?
