Im looking at a 01 grand am. The previous owner said he replaced the axles. The passenger side was on a brick as the rim was getting a new tire. I removed the brake caliper and turned the hub by hand and it spun really freely like the axle was not hooked up. The whole axle turned so it's fine. I'm thinking the stub shaft that goes from the axle to transmission was missing but if it was wouldn't the axle fall out of the transmission?

Have you tested with the parking brake off, transmission in Park, whether you can push the car on a level service?

Looking at Rockauto, passenger is longer.
That's the inner shaft that connects the transmission to the main cv shaft?
