02 2.2 exhaust

While under my sons car showing him how to get to that hidden oil filter. I noticed there was a large piece of stainless steel braided covering hanging from the exhust pipe under car. About 3in circle by 5in long or so. Looks like both ends had been attached at one time.

What is it and where does it belong at on exhaust?

Yep that is it. Being it isnt covering that IIIII area on the pipe I guess I could cut it off.
