03 headlight misaligned?

ok i just bought a used 03 sunfire 4 door. it has 208,000 kms. i know it has high miles but i also know the older couple that bought it new and towed it behind a motorhome for about 5 years and only used it to run around when they got to place vacation spot. but anyway. the headlights are working and they are bright when your standing in front of the car but not when your on the highway at night driving. the car has not been in any accidents and the lenses are clear and not oxidized. is it just me or does anyone else have this problem too?

have you made sure the high beams work?

yep the high beams work just fine and they are aimed properly. i even put in new low beam bulbs thinking maybe they were just dim bulbs. but they are no different. the bulbs i put in were silverstars but no difference at all.

Are the headlamp assemblies original equipment? There are some aftermarket headlamp assemblies sold on ebay that have problems with improper light diffusion.

check for bad ground connection and there was a recall for the wiring harness check with a dealer if the recall was performed

yes the headlight assemblies are original. i will check with a dealer to see if my car was part of the recall. thanx for all the help guys much appreciated.
