05 grand am

I have a 2005 grand am SE and the radio in it is difficult to use. it doesnt liteup anymore in the display section and this makes it harder to use as i have to keep guessing what radio channel im on. i was wondering if the new radios in the G6 models would fit in with the old grand am models?

thinking of buying one and upgrading, but i dont want to have to deal with the whole alarm system that pontiac has there... trainwreck

Buy another grand am radio from a junkyard install it in the parking lot to see if it works or you could solder in new leds
