05 montana sv6, rear hatch rattle

anyone have a mysterious loud banging sound coming from back hatch area, I can not find anything loose. I've looked under the vehicle and I have even taken the back hatch apart and found nothing loose. I did notice that the black rubber is torn off the hook on the back latch part on the hatch, could this actually be banging around on small bumps, I can't shake the door when it is latched but it is pretty heavy. help me out it is driving me crazy. thanks in advance

Double check to make sure its latched correctly(I know you probably tried that) also check the 2 struts make sure they didn't come loose .

how do i check it other than yank on it might it have like a second safety latch

well when you shut the hatch make sure its tight ,I know sometimes when the kids shut it it may only be half latched. Also when you shut it you may or may not hear the noise you are describing and maybe that will help you in determining where the noise is coming from. Perhaps a loose license plate? If its a clunking noise maybe a broken shock mount or broken shock ?

Not the license plate it is more of a bang than tat, broken shock components crossed my mind but if i get on the back of the van and bounce it all around i here nothing

well in your other post i think you say its an awd so if i'm correct maybe an axle or bushing noise ? when does the noise happen when going over bumps ,or turning or accelerating ?I guess you checked your tires,wheels ?
