06 Torrent EGR System Fault code P0401

Need a little help. I have an 06 pontiac Torrent that started acting up a couple days ago. Then engine light came on and i got the code read and it came back with a EGR sytem fault (exhaust gas recirculation) detected too little flow. anyonen else had this problem? any ideas?

Nothing really new to car that i've done other than converting over to full synthetic oil...
 
There is a Tech Service Bulletin regarding EGR issues...TSB#06-06-04-008...Just another way for GM to rip you off but it's the only fix for your issue...
 
I recently noticed the CEL on, on our '06 Torrent. Took it to AutoZone, and they told me it was EGR code. The tech didn't recommend replacing it, but the CEL was driving me nuts (I guess I'm a perfectionist). I got aftermarket EGR from Advance Auto Parts, and replaced it. The CEL did not go out after a few days of driving, as I expected. So, then I got the adjoining tube for the EGR and replaced that. Both easy tasks on the '06 torrent. The CEL still did not go out. It wasn't until I then went to an Advance Auto Parts store to have the codes read (which were P0401 and P0404, I think) that the CEL then went out.

Perhaps you must query the onboad diagnotic module after making the repair to get it to clear. Seems to be what worked in my case.
