I have a service engine soon light, so I checked it, it was a misfire on cylinder 1. Turns out a lot of Torrents and Equinox have this issue. Some are under a TSB some aren't , mine's not. I'm going to change the plugs/wires myself. What should I be looking for during the change? Also, what are the symptoms of the Head Gasket issues?

assuming you mean P0301 read the link below with the suggested fixes. Unless you are using an ohm meter to determine if the wires are bad it is just a guess that is causing the issue. Head gasket can cause overheating, presence of antifreeze in the oil, an external leak.
