06 vibe defrost makes radiator fan run super fast

I have a 06 Pontiac vibe and radiator fan runs fast but when I turn the defrost on it starts going even faster and makes it sound like jet. It has also started causing the power to bog down every once in awhile. Any suggestions on what to do something is going to break if I don't get this fixed soon
 
do you have a check engine light on, if so it causes the fan to run and if not corrected will cause the motor to burn out.
