Hi. I have an 07 Torrent purchased brand new. Today its about 85F and a bit humid, nothing too crazy. I find the AC does not cool well at all. Using a long probe thermometer in one of the center vents, I get air coming out in the high 40's and low 50's farenhight, and thats while I am driving! I spoke to a dealer service dept, and the fellow said that the air normally is 30 degrees cooler than the outside air. Thats quite poor. That means that if outside temps approach 100F, the vent temp will only be 70F? Impossible.

I think the compressor is not staying on long enough to give sufficient cooling. The rads are clean, and both fans are cutting in. I read on-line that there may be an adjustment to give longer compressor "on time". Are there any Torrent experts out there who know the system?

I can only compare it to 2 cars - my 97 Stang GT same day, blew 40 degree air, and my 73 Gran Torino with a Vintage Air install also blew 40F - at IDLE!

Thanks for any help

Ian R.

Do you have the air source set for inside? If you have it set for outside air the car will be constantly struggling to cool off the 85 degree outside air. Your owners manual explains the air settings
