08 GXP Power Steering issues

Hi, I have a 08 Torrent GXP 3.6ltr. It's been a fantastic car but since last fall I have had to replace the Power Steering Return Hose 3 times!!! It just blew out again. The parts are always GM OEM. Can some one please help me understand what is going on here? Something other than the hose has to be causing this.

if it is the pressure side hose there is something wrong with the power steering pump pressure regulator. The thing to would be to measure the pressure and see if it is within factory specifications.

HI thanks for your reply. It's the return side hose. Is the regulator inside the pump? You think the pump might be causing this?

yes the regulator is in the pump. If the hoses keep on blowing it's because of excessive pressure. When you say "blew out" you do mean the hose is splitting?

Yes each time the hose has split.

1 - First time it happened it was at about 140k, thought it was just time.

2 - 2nd time it happened as soon as it was installed for the first one.

3 - 3rd time it happened 10 months after the second install.

4 - 4th time just happened 2 months after 3rd install.

I knew something had to be causing the lines to blow.
