Bought an 08 torrent from a gm dealer 3 weeks ago with 74000 kms. Check engine light on the day I drove it home. Back to the dealer and they replaced spark plug wires but said plugs were ok. On the way home back on came the light. On the way back to dealer again (500 km round trip) the abs, traction light came on. They replaced abs sensor on rear hub and #1 and # 5 plugs. Took it home again and yes on the way check engine light came on. Getting really expensive for fuel plus 2 scans that cost me $90.00 which they say is not reimbursable. Been a loyal GMC guy all my life but this one is trying my patience.
any ideas on how to deal with this

Not sure if this is your problem, but had similar experience with my 08 torrent, same milage. When engine light came on took it to my local mechanic and he replaced one of the ignition coils, $300 expense. He also told me the cat converter was plugged due to the faulty coil issue, resulting in very poor gas milage. Anyway, took it to dealer, they replaced MAP sensor and cat converter. This was about a month ago, no other issues since then, fingers crossed.
