I was looking to buy a replacement fuel tank for my 51 chief. all fuel tank vendors offer four different options for this model year... the only difference between the four models is the filler neck placement on the tank.
thing is... i bought this car without a fuel tank, so i have nothing for a reference.
which means, i need someone with a really good idea on how to determine which of the four filler neck options is correct for the 1951 Pontiac Cheiftain (2569D) or I need someone WITH a 2569D to measure their tank and tell me which of the four options is correct.

can anyone help me?

I see where you have to measure the offset of the neck from the flange of the tank. Is there anyway you can mock up a neck using a rubber hose and then measure to whatever support is used to hold the tank in place?
