• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "1995 Trans Am" isn't going to indicate to anybody that you need help. However, "Need help with my 1995 Trans Am" will. Be as descriptive as you can. Please use common sense... My dad just inherited a 1951 Pontiac Chieftain that's been sitting for quite a while. The body is in surprisingly decent shape for sitting for that long but it has rust spots and the chrome is rough. I'll be posting more pictures soon. Its got all original stuff as far as I know. The transmission and straight 8 are locked up but my Dad is pretty sure he can crank it loose if he soaks it in blaster. The interior dash is in good shape but the seats and floor are rank (I'm pretty sure something died in there) and that's my first question. How do we get that smell out? Also I'd love to hear ideas on what to do with it. My dad said something about putting a big block 454 Chevy C30 motor in it but he's not sure. Its automatic, but I've heard they are strange compared to today's cars. Like I said, more pictures coming soon but I can't wait to hear from you guys. Thanks!

You have to gut the interior down to the bare metal and clean or replace anything that has the odor. Concerning putting a modern engine in it you would have to find a company that makes an adaptor kit if they exist. You can try the link below.
