I would like a dual master cylinder for my 57 star chief, however, the MC is underneath the steering column.
Question: Can I have the original MC push fluid to a secondary dual MC that would push fluid to the brakes?

Just replacing the MC with a new one would make it hang below the frame and I've read somewhere where they did that, bottomed out going into a parking lot, ripped off the MC and hit a parked car.

Any thoughts?

Not sure how you are going to get fluid coming out from the old to press the piston in the back of the new one. In addition the old one is still an issue. You can get rebuild kits for the old one at www.amesperf.com. Would make more sense to replace the system with a dedicated dual master and perhaps upgrade to front discs. Another view point

Okay, I'll rebuild the old one, run new lines and rebuild each drum.
I'll give it a shot before trying to mod it. Just thinking in advance is all.
Thank you.
