Hey guys I'm new to the site and I'm looking to clarify a few things I have questions on. I would like to do an LS swap in my Pontiac as easily as possible. I found a kit for 58-64 Impala and was hoping it would work for my car.

1. Did the 59-60 Catalinas and Impalas share the same frame? From what I've seen they're both B-body cars so it should fit, right?

2. Any suggestions on where to buy OEM parts? Not for the drivetrain of course unless I decide to abandon my LS swap.

3. If anyone here has done an LS swap without the kit any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

contact the manufacturer of the kit, I would think if it fit more than just Impalas they would state that in order to sell more kits. You can try www.amesperf.com for some reproduction parts depending on what you are looking for and also try www.frankspontiacparts.com for used.

The kit may work, but a Chevy and Pontiac B-body did not use the same frame back before 1971. They were very different.

Just FYI if you plan on selling the car in the future the LS swap will probably not help the resale value. Pontiac people tend to be very engine brand loyal.
