I have a 1963 Grand Prix with a factory 4 speed and A/C. I have recently rebuilt the A/C, which now works, and have purchased the factory ductwork, which was missing when I bought the car. For the life of me, I cannot figure out how the ductwork from the driver's side ball vent is supposed to connect to the main ductwork that distributes the cold air. There is just no space over, under, or around the steering column to install the factory duct. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Have you tried finding the factory shop manual?

I've got all of the shop manuals as well as underdash pictures of the system with an automatic transmission. I have a factory 4 speed with factory A/C. This combination does not seem to be addressed in the shop manuals ( I have the chassis as well as the A/C specific manuals) as the clutch linkage completely blocks the path that the driver's side ball vent needs to use.
