1964 Lemans Air Conditioning question

I have a 1964 Lemans (with the original 326) that does not have factory air conditioning. My brother was given an a/c system out of a 1968 El Camino (350). He told me that if it will fit on a Pontiac, then I can have it. Can anyone tell me if a '68 El Camino factory a/c will work on a '64 Lemans?

I really doubt it, the engine blocks/cylinder heads and their mounting holes are not the same
