1964 Pontiac heater core

Hello to all, love the forum!

I have a 64 Catalina convertible and have developed a nagging issue. I'm getting fogging on the inside of my windshield especially when the top is up.

I have been here before with a Ford Granada, and suspect I have a leak in the heater core.

Any one agree and/or had this issue? Secondly, can anyone verify that I can get to it entirely under the dash. And any tips based on mistakes/experiences that I can benefit from? For now I hope to just bypass the core by pulling the hoses off it.

Transmission is automatic, no A/C, 389ci, thanks.

If it's the heater core it should have the distinctive smell of antifreeze, do you smell antifreeze? Is the carpet wet on the passenger side? Have you pressure tested the cooling system. If this is a car you intend to keep a copy of the factory service manual would be your best reference on how to remove the core if you have to.
