1966 Lemans horn button question

Dear forum,

The horn on my 66 Lemans is not operating - I did the troubleshooting based on the Shop manual and isolated the problem to the circuit between the horn relay and the steering wheel.

I was able to verify the horn works when I touch the terminal #2 of the relay to ground.

Now comes the hard part - I don't know how to trace the wire from the horn relay to the steering wheel horn button.

Have this question though: Here's a pic of the horn button from Ames catalog -



Is there supposed to be a wire attached to this? Do I need to pull the steering wheel to get to this part?

yes you have to pull the steering wheel to get to the horn contact components
